Post-Pandemic COVID-19 Signage Communication - Projeto Vida School

Objective:


The project aimed to create an effective and inclusive visual communication strategy for Projeto Vida School, considering the need for signage and guidance for different audiences (preschool, elementary, and high school) in the post-pandemic context of COVID-19. The proposal involved the development of graphic elements, such as illustrations and panels, to promote social distancing, hygiene practices, and the use of protective equipment in a clear and accessible way.

 

Development:

  1. Research and Audience Analysis:
    The first step was to conduct a study of the characteristics of each school group (preschool, elementary, and high school), considering age range, comprehension levels, and each group's specific needs regarding post-pandemic public health guidelines.

  2. Creation of Illustrations:
    Custom illustrations were created, using simple and didactic graphic elements to facilitate understanding of safety guidelines. The illustrations were designed to be visually engaging for each age group, with symbols, colors, and shapes that attract attention and are easily understood.

  3. Customized Signage:
    The signage was adapted to the school context, with clear messages about the importance of wearing masks, hand hygiene, social distancing, and new entry and exit protocols. For the preschool audience, playful and fun characters were used to make the guidelines more accessible and less formal, while for elementary and high school students, the messages were presented in a direct and informative way.

  4. Installation of Pieces:
    The signage was strategically placed at key points throughout the school, such as entrances, hallways, classrooms, cafeterias, and restrooms. Additionally, guidelines for the flow of people and circulation areas were included to optimize distancing and prevent crowding.

  5. Integration with the School Environment:
    The visual identity of Projeto Vida School was respected, ensuring that the new signage and illustrations blended harmoniously with the school's existing environment. The design of the pieces was aligned with the color palette and visual elements already in place, creating integrated and cohesive communication.

Results:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, contributing to the protection of students and staff.

  • Raise awareness in an accessible and engaging way, taking into account the different age groups and their ways of learning and absorbing information.

  • Facilitate the safe return to school activities, with clear instructions and reduced confusion regarding the new required behaviors.

This communication project aimed to transform the school environment into a safe and welcoming space, respecting the specificities of each audience and promoting a smooth transition to the new post-pandemic normal.
